One pill crushes you against shooting stars

One pill drops you to the sand like dissolving nightmares

& the bridge under which I stand is

Pulling my body apart in its sublime violence.

‘Beautiful…beautiful girl’

He whispers as I melt into the backseat of his car

Unfamiliar lips undressing my skin as I

Push his money into the pocket of my longing

& the stream from hell smells like burnt rubber

And tears tap dance across my face and drown my journey

Like a paralyzed sea of no turning back

No turning back, lovely.

One pill grips your heart like passionate steel

One pill shoves you into the womb of blistered euphoria

& the way I’m sweeping star dust into the palm of my hand

I can almost pretend to remember better times.
