Eyes of a Child
Through the eyes of a child,
I saw,
A beautiful world,
Where everything was pure,
Untainted.
I saw,
Ah, the beautiful flowers,
With gentle caresses of wind,
But now I wonder,
If the flowers were choking to death,
From all the heat and pollution.
I saw,
Ah, the raised voices of adults,
Were just playful bicker,
But now I wonder,
How hurtful every word was,
And if forgiveness will ever be found.
I saw,
Ah, nice people everywhere,
With kind and sweet smiles,
But now I wonder,
Behind every smile,
Did darkness lurk behind?
The world was still a wonderful place,
Where fairytales still existed,
How beautiful the world will be,
If we all have eyes of a child.
