Sisterhood

She breaks,
a white-on-white
crack in her lithesome,
not-unparalleled
but crowd-sanctioned
beauty.

Another prefers
time-tested guiles and
believes in the bodily
benefits of compassion.

I indulge
in believing I am
them both,

and become myself,
amorphous with hand-sheared hair,
dough-faced and fleshed out
like an unfinished photograph
of Woman.

We floated on a colour-schemed
anomaly, tried on different sets of
heartbeats with near-cardiac-arrests
and other adventures.

Like children, we grew old.
