The End of all Things

I hate you,
do you know that?
I hate you
for beating me to it
for making me seem weak
(I was planning on dumping you
anyway)

I hate you for
trying to get away
with still liking
her
(you know exactly who I'm talking about)

I hate the way
high school dictates
the way this
fucking relationship
is supposed to go

Friends,
I noticed something in you,
something different,
you ask me out
I heard today you didn't really
want to,
I say yes
I did it so I wouldn't break your heart,
we kiss
I felt a connection there,
once,
we start to drift apart
it was inevitable that this would happen
someday,
I start to see things
the way you ignore me,
how you act around
her
Convictions of jealousy occur
You say I am,
but I'm just mad at
you

This relationship,
our relationship,
ended like the stereotype says

I'm sorry it didn't happen
sooner
