Crashing waves rise above a storm

Where a young sailor tries to steer his ship

Salty water spews, as lightning bolts clash

Dolphins dive under the surface to escape

From the pounding rain

No seagulls are here- they have all gone home

Even the mightiest of whales have hidden

The sailor’s strength is wearing

His confidence is fading

A violent tempest can not be matched

As he mutters one last prayer

He hopes the storm will pass

A wish is successful

The clouds depart for a yellow sun

Mermaids sing and fish rejoice

Dolphins and whales emerge from their home

Once again to show the sailor their dazzling moves

Seagulls caw and fly upon outstretched wings

And the sailor feels a salty zephyr in his

Face and wonders when “Next time” will come
