You are fire,

Quick and witty.

Always burning

Brightly and

Beautifully.

You light up

The darkest places,

Warm up

The coldest rooms.

But I am air

Quiet and invisible.

Always watching,

Softly and

Silently.

I have seen

The worst of situations.

I have looked down

From the highest peaks.

Fire cannot burn

Without air.

You need me.

Without me

You are nothing,

Only a few sticks

And lighter fluid.
