Dull and Gone

By: Lauren

I watch you silently

An ache, deep in my heart

Tears that threaten to spill

Tumbling down my cheeks

A flood,

Unstoppable,

Sentencing all to death

The ark, broken and splintered

No more hate is left,

No more anger or rage

Years have passed by,

People maturing and changing

The fury has subsided

Turning into a dull, throbbing ache

A sorrow hidden within

Ignored and cast to the back of the mind

It hurts it hurts

It will be okay

We will be fine

Wipe up the tears

Make it dull,

Turn away

Walk away

Walk away into the sunset

Everything melting,

into a flash of orange and yellow

Melting, changing,

Gone.
