you were philosophies wrapped paper thin
around green beer bottles bobbling in the water

cutthroat words dripping against every plane,
tide, and summer skirt against reality

the explorer slipping and sailing
on the shoulders of shooting stars
buried deep in cathedral eyes

atomic numbers ticking away underwater
drinking away the rivers and the rainbows,
diving into the deep end of the dead man’s grave

spoonful of sunsets served with blue moons
as you prodded and tried to dissect the truth

you were the curious cat slowly rubbing against
the clockwork explosives and

darting through the attic door.
