If I am Nothing

By Riosuu

What should I strive for in this life?

What are my dreams, my goals, my desires?

When I am nothing to this world.

What is it that I should hope to accomplish with my life?

If my life is meaningless in the eyes of others.

No one sees me, no one hears me, no one knows I have lived a life of nothing.

What am I then if there is nothing?

No hope, no name, no recognition.

My picture lies on the floor, collecting dust throughout the ages.

It crumbles into the abyss as people stand beside it, never noticing the weeping figure.

I am neither here nor there.

What is my existence then, if no one knows me and I know not myself?

My longings and yearnings mean nothing in this world or the next.

And I am cast off into limbo where solitude awaits.

If a tree falls in the forest when no one is there, how can you be certain it made a sound?

If that is the ase, then how can you be certain I am here when...

No one sees me.

No one hears me.

No one knows I have lived a life of nothing.
