You’ve gotten stuck in the veins

Close to my

Heart

Tangled them up and

Ripped me

Apart

The knot surrounding

My heart, you

Tied

And the rivers now running

Dry, are tears I’ve

Cried

You’ve run me down and run me over

Black tread-marks on my

Soul

Bruises that I foolishly treasure

Marking skin gone

Cold

I’ve hated you for loving me

And wished this all could

End

We’re stubborn and we’re beautiful

We won’t break and we won’t

Bend

Because love’s too precious to release

And I won’t let you

Go

It’s an ideal death for my masochistic self

Since pain is perfect and pain is

Slow

We can only cling on and take

The path of least

Resistance

Love’s faultless agony may take away

The anguish of our

Distance

-

We can only hope
