Empathy

--

Your tears mean nothing to one who cannot cry

Your heartbreak is nothing to the heartless

Though your heart bleeds, the ones who have no blood to lose

cannot feel your agony

You can disappear forever, but those who never knew you

will never mourn your absence

- : - : -

Your cries mean nothing to one who cannot scream

Your fears are nothing to the fearless

Though you stumble on your way, those who have nowhere to journey

cannot feel your hurt

You can disappear forever, but those who never knew you

will never mourn your absence

- : - : -

Your shame means nothing to one who cannot beg

Your tortured mind is nothing to the mindless

Though everyone turns away, those who have no one

cannot feel your anguish

You can disappear forever, but those who never knew you

will never mourn your absence

- : - : -

Your broken spirit is nothing to one who cannot break

Your crushed soul is nothing to the soulless

Though you shatter like glass, those who never were complete

cannot feel your sorrow

You are torn in a thousand pieces, but those who never knew you whole

will never mourn your ruin
