Chapter 2: Take Off

Rin walked back into the hanger, Sophi was sitting back resting while covered in grease. Damuis hands typing away on the holographic keyboard. “Is the ship ready?”

Sophi looked up; she didn’t even noticed Rin walked in. He had two large bags under his arms. “Yeah, I repaired all the blast damage from last mission and did a check through of all the systems.”

Damuis hands stopped typing; he raised his glasses onto his head and looked over to Rin. “Everything is done on my end. I even inputted F3956.”

“F3956? I haven’t heard of that program of yours.” Sophi said confused.

Rin let of a small laugh “Alright, Sophi go clean up and then we will head out of here.”

Sophi looked at Rin and Damuis, she knew they where hiding something. She hit the keypad on the ship having the door swing open and disappeared inside.

Rin looked at Damuis, “I figured you would find out, so you put in F3956. Let’s hope we don’t have to use it.”

“Yeah, let’s get going.” Damuis said packing up the few things he had laying around the hanger.

Rin nodded his head in agreement and entered the ship. Damuis followed him.

The ship wasn’t very big; it was almost like a small apartment beside the cockpit. The tree of them could live on board for over a month without having to restock. Sophi walked out of the small bathroom onboard. Her hair wet and tied back, she tapped a button on her suit casing it to clean it’s self. Rin set down the bags he was holding and walked into the cockpit sitting down, Damuis followed him.

Rin’s hand played with the controls around the cockpit and took hold of the stick. The engines started as the ship floated off the ground. Flipping a switch he turned on the huge holographic screen in front of him showing the view from the front of the ship.

Damuis spoke into a mic built into his glasses, “Spirton requesting hanger H-78 to be unlocked.”

“Spirton H-78 is now unlocked, access code 3218” came a voice from the speakers in the cockpit.

“Thank you command.” Damuis said as he slapped the access code into the ship opening the hanger.

Rin pulled back the stick and maneuvered out of the hanger. Damuis hit a few key putting the ship in hyper speed for a direct course for Zone X352.

“So how long is the trip?” Sophi asked standing in the doorway.

“2 hours.” Damuis said as he tapped a few more keys.

Rin got up and squeezed past Sophi walked to the two bags he brought onboard. He pulled out a small dark brown bottle. “Shall we have a drink?”
