Lethargic

Too tired to get up

Laying on the sofa

The phone rings noisily, ignored

She looks straight ahead

The pain is painful

The silence tense

All alone, she is

Unable to move

Sleep won't come-

It would mean an effort-

So there she stares

Thoughts causing a whirling din

To act would require movement

To care, feelings

Able to do naught but sit

The lethargy has attacked her full force.

A/N: Part one of a two part poem.
