This is the poetry version of "A Dark Dream". Someone read the first version and thought it was too wordy, so I redid it in less words, for them as well as myself.

Elegance standing tall
Hair floating in the breeze
She watches flames dancing
Eating up a house
A black bird of night flies to her
She takes no notice
He falls
An inkblot crying in the night
Splashes and forms her lover
Her whisper breaks sweet silence
"Make it stop."
Nothing moves, nothing sounds
In the nothing, they know
She doesn't want it
With no words
She brushes a hand down his cheek
His breath catches
His heart stops
He knows he must leave her
And he flies again
A treasure is left
One feather
She clings to it
And falls down to earth
Finally letting pain roll down her cheeks in rivers
Even though flames burn on
