The Nameless
As the stars smile down on Earth,
When the sun shines down with mirth,
While the air feels thick of rain,
Once the dew glistens fields of grain,
It’s everything and everywhere,
In smallest mouse, in strongest bear,
At every death, at every birth,
Oh, will we ever know its worth?
It has no shape, it has no name,
There is no knowing whence it came,
It will not fade, it will not die,
Though many people wonder why,
For life is mean and life is cruel,
And Evil often seems to rule,
But It will shine like candle flame,
And lift e’ery man past highest aim.
