she sits there looking out her window
as her life flashed before her eyes
she wonders how she managed to go on
after she let it all just slip on by
she wonders how they can just forget it
like it was twenty years ago
she's finding it hard to believe
that she's still here
and that she hasn't just let it go

he was everywhere
he always cared
he never gave up on the things
that made him smile
how could they not see
that for hours she
would sit there wishing
he would come back for a little while

and now she wonders how he's been
has he found someone else he loves?
has he found another daughter?
or is he gone and high above?
and now she thinks about her mother
"does she miss him like i do?"
and she sits there and she wonders
"how are we gonna' make it through?"

he was everywhere
he always cared
he never gave up on the things
that made him smile
how could they not see
that for hours she
would sit there wishing
he would come back for a little while

an angel girl on a gravestone
"we love her dearly, we love her so"
a fragile soul the world forgot
last words "please father forget me not"

he was everywhere
he always cared
he never gave up on the things
that made him smile
how could they not see
that for hours she
would sit there wishing
he would come back for a little while
