Sappy Moonlight And The Old Man

The moonlight hits your skin
So gently
Yet every chiseled angle of your face
Is clearly illuminated
Perfectly shown

Moonlight hides nothing

Full moons make
People go insane
Driving their cars in the middle of the road
Although you and I
We seem sane enough this fine night

The moonlight is beautiful
As it dances in your hair

I want to
Touch it
But I cannot
For it would be too awkward

Then again
Putting this into words is awkward
Yet I still do it

So what’s to stop me
From running my fingers
Through your hair
On another full-moon night like tonight?

--

“Ah
They sit together
Outside
On the night of the full moon”
Says the Old Man by the mesh porch door

“How romantic”
He sighs

“It reminds me of
Myself
Back in the day”
