You smile

So distant

So fake

It all melts away

It’s all you have

That plastic upturn of the lips

Your only source of stability

It all melts away

The good always changes

The bad stays the same

Or so you claim, but

It all melts away

You need to take a stand

You need to make your change

You must wipe it off, still

It all melts away

The truth can be seen,

Under it all.

Despite the glamorous effort,

It all melts away.

No matter what you do,

Or what you say

I can still see it there.

The hurt-

won’t melt away.
