Double the Fall

These feelings I have
They’re all that I’ve got
But then they betray me
More often than not

For while things are good
I’m standing so tall
Higher than normal
Hence, double the fall

Getting wrapped in emotions
Feels great at the time
But then things however
Can turn on a dime

And suddenly things
Aren’t the way they should be
I start to fall
Like an anchor at sea

Thus I fall to rock bottom
The other side of the scale
Where feelings are sad
And emotions are stale

And that’s where I stay
For a while you see
Because my feelings and emotions
Got the better of me

But emotions and feelings
Are part of my life
Despite all the
Grief, the distress and the strife

So I’ll use them again
And bounce high like a ball
Setting myself up
For double the fall
