Fly

Fly away into the darkened night sky

Alone in this world, ready to die.

Feeble and failing, I lie there and weep

Praying to Gods, may they let me sleep.

I’m bleeding, shattered, defeated; you’ll never pay the price,

I'll flap my broken wings, then fall upon the ice.

Slipping and sliding to an unbounded bliss,

I’ll lie there and dream of a pale winters kiss.

Leave me to die, it would be no surprise,

For broken I am, I know you’ll despise.

Forgive me and love me, is all that I ask

But for you, I know, it is a great task.

May the sun shine upon my face once again,

May you forgive me, my unpardoned sin.

Please let my spirit rise to the sky,

Then bear you with me, never to cry.
