Control

-

Eyes sparkle in the night,

As moonlight trickles through the trees.

A sigh, the wind, passes by,

But he's not there.

The warmth of a fireside,

Crackling with unspoken joy.

I feel a presence upon me,

But he's not there.

I want to know,

How you can control me,

Invisibly, effortlessly,

Without even seeing me.

Whispers in the darkness,

Fates yet untold.

I wither in the silence,

But he's never there.

I want to know,

How you can control me,

Without a touch, without a word,

And still defeat me,

You defeat me.
