Little bud of spring
Floating gently in the breeze
Greet the morning dawn.

That we should see mortality as one
small limitation, and go on with life
as we should, flying upward to the sign
We cannot let life continue with strife,
instead to conquer it like a mountain;
for who can live forever living on
the ground? Shall we wake up 'gain and again,
only to find our life is all but gone,
or can we wake and say, "I have done well
with my life," and then just be satisfied.
But as for me (I who will never tell),
for me whose hands life has unjustly tied,
I will sit and let out a great big sigh
As I quietly let my world go by.
