Dramatis Personae (in order of appearance)

Liam Mac Carthaigh:
An exorcist and priest who took part in an attack against a cult of demon-worshippers many years ago.

Tamara:
A young woman deemed important by the Grim. She was raised in the Wu Li monastery after being left there as a small child.

Jotaro:
A Wu Li acolyte who was Tamara’s closest friend and confidant as they grew up in the monastery.

Master Po:
The Wu Li master who acted as Tamara’s adoptive father. He is beloved by all who meet him for his seemingly endless kindness and good humor.

Master Jyun:
A Wu Li master who helped raise and train Tamara. He was her strictest teacher.

Shinta:
A Wu Li acolyte who is several years older than Tamara.

Shu Law:
An ancient Cathayan mystic who is the unquestioned master of the Iron Dragons, a powerful crime syndicate based in Cathay.

Duke Erebus:
A wealthy nobleman. Little is known about his true lineage save that he is adopted.

Lady Jessica:
A beautiful noblewoman who is relentlessly pursued by many suitors. She appears to be enamored with Duke Erebus.

Zuhayr:
A Saracen assassin. No one has ever seen his face and there are rumors that he can move so quickly that he appears to be in two places at once. He and Xavier are rivals.

Chimera:
A secretive being whose features and voice are ever shifting. He is the master of the House of Bones, a crime syndicate based in Fierté De Mer.

Xavier de la Nuit:
A successful assassin from Fierté De Mer. He is the latest of a long line of solitary assassins to bear the “de la Nuit” title. He is renowned for his supposed inability to feel emotion and his unique appearance.

Bengalo:
An exceptionally intelligent and worldly young Romany boy with ties to the criminal underworld of Fierté De Mer.

Lachlan Mac Carthaigh:
The handsome nephew of Liam Mac Carthaigh.
