The Cry of a Wounded Heart”

Sable McPherson

These thoughts of mine just push me around

I feel like I cannot make a sound

Cannot scream, cannot get away from it

The darkness in my heart,

I think it’s only a start,

The beginning of the pain, gotta get away from it

The pain in my life

The tears that are uncried

The hurt in my heart that’s only buried inside

No one’s out there to listen

No one’s desperate to hear

I cannot wait another moment

And just listen to the seams of my sanity as it tears.

They always say that I’m loved and cared about

But these voices again, only scram and shout

The objections of the words that they all say

And I’m always trying to fight my own way

And I believe

No one’s out there to listen

No one’s desperate to hear

I cannot wait another moment

And just listen to the seams of my sanity as it tears

It’s like no one wants to listen to my cries

Of hope and peace and a joyful life

But when all this evil comes to me

I just believe it’s the end of this, don’t you see?

They can try to tell me what’s good and what’s wrong

What is far away and what’s been there all along

But they don’t know what I think

I wish that...

Someone’s there to listen

Someone’s desperate to hear

Because I cannot wait another moment

And just listen to the seams of my sanity as it tears

But no one’s there to listen

No one’s desperate to hear

And I cannot wait another moment

Just to listen to the seams of my sanity as it tears

No one’s there
