Imperfection”

Sable McPherson

They expect me to do everything

When I can hardly do anything at all

Every time I try to do it

I just stumble and then begin to fall

I get so mad at myself when I do it

I wish I could get through it

Cause I get it in my head

I can do it, but instead

My plans are altered

I stumble and falter

If only I could do

What the others want me to

But I only learn a lesson

I suffer from a case of imperfection

I try to get it correct

Meanwhile, on the other side

I struggle to comprehend

All the things that are clouded in my mind

I get so made at myself when I can’t do it

I wish I could get through it

Cause I get it in my head

I can do it, but instead

My plans are altered

I stumble and falter

If only I could do

What the others want me to

But I only learn a lesson

I suffer from a case of imperfection

Everyone keeps telling me

The story of the only perfect man

How they tortured him and killed him

How they didn’t understand

Now I’m faced with a decision

What do I do now that I can’t face perfection?

Cause I get it in my head

I can do it, but instead

My plans are altered

I stumble and falter

If only I could do

What the others want me to

But I only learn a lesson

I don’t wanna get it in my head

I can do it, but instead

All my plans are altered

I stumble and I falter

But I don’t wanna do

What the others tell me to

I learned a life-long lesson

I won’t forget this lesson

But I only learned a lesson

I suffer from a large case of imperfection
