Family Still Life
The objects of their history
Through life and pains
and memories
Lies upon the table
For the artist’s steady gaze
To draw from
In the end they would hope to be a masterpiece
Etched with every line
Filled every anguish through the bad times
And joy from the good times
But there would be a missing remnant
For no one and nothing
Could fill the gaps in their hearts
From missing the patriarch,
Their father.
