How is the heart

Able to develop skill

Dark enough to hurt;

Black enough to kill?

Jealousy turns the eyes;

Friends begin to fade

And, from deep within them,

Darkness takes their place.

Truths can cut deep

And sometimes it’s better not to know—

Skimming the surface

Of the depths below.

We all have our troubles
