"Why?"

All I can ask is "why?"
Why did I deserve this?
What did I ever do?
I see how it is now
even as my heart breaks in half.
I don't know why this is happening.
But it is.
Tears are streaming down my face
as I struggle to hold them back,
without luck.
I guess in the end
all I can say is
some form of goodbye.
