Painted Lies

“Stupid… bloody… fucking…” Kailex grumbled to herself, dragging her sword behind her as the sixth, and what she hoped was the last of the creatures, fell to the ground with its ribcage ripped open…

NOW she knew exactly why others had died facing the monstrous creatures in the god forsaken swamp, valley whatever it was! She just wanted to find her creature and be rid of this wretched place!

Kailex stopped walking, seeing a shaft of silver light penetrate the thick canopy, she never thought that there would be any such light in a place like this but apparently there was, and it was shinning down on a blackish-white tiger.

It wasn’t a tiger, she reminded herself. It’s black feathered wings were folded neatly behind it, the creature itself looked like a cross between human and animal considering body shape. Its violet eyes searched the silver glowing pools of the goddess, waiting for her to say something.

Kailex frowned and came forwards, the beast being so much taller than her.

While Kailex was only 5’11 the beast was well over 10 feet. Maybe he was even 20 feet in height, his claws were sharp but were retractable, so they remained hidden until the need arose for them to be used. The tiger giants teeth were sharp but hidden as well. There was a darkness in those violet eyes as Kailex stood right in front of the tiger.

A darkness that Kailex took an instant liking to, the beast was as evil as they came, but he would be loyal to her without question. Kailex knew that if she told this creature to jump off a cliff and not use his wings to save himself, just to jump and let himself die that he would do it without another thought for himself.

The Great Beast stood up, Kailex saw it was a quadruped, its hackles rose up and its face twisted into a snarl. Wait a minute! Wasn’t this creature meant to serve her?

It leapt at her and she quickly dodged to the side, growling in frustration as she ripped the blade into its ribcage. The great beast roared with agony and tried to swipe at her, it got a hit in that swatted Kailex aside, smashing her into a tree. She screamed with pain but got up and moved aside before the beast’s giant paw came down onto the spot where she had been laying.

Kailex shook her head before swiftly running behind the creature she leapt onto its tail, swiftly climbing on to its back, up its spine, the base of its neck. Kailex screamed as one of the beast’s claws ripped into her upper leg from a blind swipe.

She roared and sunk her blade point first into the beast’s neck, severing its spinal cord. It roared in agony before it staggered and collapsed. Kailex had leapt off at the right moment but she landed harshly and screamed in pain, her vision went black…

“Where is that Goddess…” Zarak asked out loud, thinking that the Goddess had been killed maybe half way through. He turned around and looked at the village people who had gathered at the end of the middle sized natural made tunnel of a huge tree. The interior was wet and foggy so that you could not see, but it was not large enough for one of those beasts to get through thankfully.

He sighed before stating in a loud, somewhat disappointed voice. “The ‘Goddess’ is dead! She was like the rest of them! Only wanting to fool us and use us!” he cried. The villagers roared in anger, shouting many things of bad karma to Kailex.

Suddenly there was a small shout and the little girl know as Saran squirmed from the crowd.

“No! Kaaaay!” were the two words she screamed before running blindly into the tunnel, dropping her much cherished teddy bear so she could run faster. “Saran!” Zarak tried to catch her but he had no such luck, she ducked down and vanished into the tunnel…

Kailex was limping through the dark fog, her eyes glowing, trying to pierce the thick darkness around her. Her leg was torn, her shoulder out of place and her back ripped into. How the hell she’d managed to wake up was beyond her, she just wanted to get back to her temple…

The Goddess picked up something, she could hear small but hurried foot falls coming towards her, a rush of air, a movement in the fog and suddenly Saran ran straight into her. Kailex screamed from the pain that suddenly shot through her body light acid bolts of fire, she fell over and curled up, crying. She felt so weak…

Saran gasped and fell to her knees next to Kailex’s head, gently stroking the Goddess’s hair. “Kay?” she asked, sounding on the verge of tears herself. “Please stop crying, Kay…” Saran murmured.

Kailex shuddered, she couldn’t get up, she was too weak, she’d lost too much blood. Saran leaned over, kissing Kailex’s temple gently, not caring about the blood now on her mouth. “Please stop crying Kay, please…” she started sobbing. “The others wanted to make sure that you were a real Goddess, they wanted to see if you died or not because only a God or Goddess can defeat all the Monsters. Zarak is not really a Beast Master, he just sedates the Monsters and locks them in the Swamp…” Saran cried.

The Goddess’s eyes sharpened, the glow slowly coming back to them as she narrowed them. “Th-they wha….what?” she managed to get out. Saran could only return with a sob as she continued to stroke Kailex’s hair.

Kailex’s eyes rolled up, looking at the crying girl, her eyes softened, the glow returning completely. “Do not cry Saran…” she whispered. Crimson sparks and embers trailed slowly along the Goddess’s injuries as she pushed herself up, she wrapped her arms around Saran, standing up and hugging the girl close as she continued to cry. “Shhh… it is alright… do not cry child…” she cooed gently to the girl, stroking her hair.

Saran managed to choke out her pet name for Kailex, “Kay…” she sobbed.

Kailex’s eyes closed, she hugged Saran close, her expression almost pained as she began to walk. The Injuries laced over her body closing up with the crimson sparks. Kailex felt the warmth of the sun, a slight breeze rustle her hair and loud gasps from the many shocked villagers before her.

Her eyes opened again, they were hardened, glowing the colour of blood. “You bastards…” she growled. Kailex walked forwards, the villagers parted to let her walk past them in mute horror and shock.

The Goddess didn’t look at any of them, she just walked right past, leaving a chilling air behind her that gave a feeling of eeriness to the villagers. “Zarak!” Kailex barked. The so-called “beast-master” slowly came forwards. “Y-yes?” he stammered, his eyes full of fear. Kailex looked over her shoulder at him, “come to my room an two hours before mid-night…” she murmured.

Kailex then walked away again until she reached the entrance to her temple and went inside. Holding the small, crying child close to her…

“But I don’t want to go to sleep…” Saran protested, Kailex smiled at her, silver eyes full of warmth, not a cold lack of sanity like they usually were. The two were in another room, it was a cosy room that Kailex had purposefully made less “gothic” in appearance so that it was not frightening to the little girl.

The small bed Saran was going to sleep in tonight was a pale, sky blue and the pillow cover was white. The walls had been re-done by Kailex with a pale blue and white, fluffy clouds, she had then painted several birds on the walls, gorgeous birds that had long since been extinct that only the Goddess somehow knew about.

One such winged creature had metallic silver eyes and long, tapering black feathers, there was a band of gold that went over its eyes and then “eyebrows” the colour of blood that were a good two inches in length. Its hooked beak was golden with a line of black at the base and its talons were bronze with silver coloured feet.

Saran sat up, “can you really paint Kay?” she asked. Kailex smiled, “of course I can Saran, how do you think the room became like this?” she smiled warmly at the young girl. The little child giggled, “prove it,” she grinned. Kailex smiled again, “alright…” she then stood up, walking out and after a few moments she walked back in carrying several small pots of paint with several different brushes in her hand.

Kailex smiled, taking a thin tipped brush she dipped it into the black and began outlining the eye of a bird. “Wait!” came Saran’s voice. Kailex paused, looking back at the child, “what is it?” she asked in a gentle tone. Saran looked almost nervous to ask, “can… can you paint something other than a bird?” she asked. The Goddess thought about it before she moved the tip of her index finger over the black line and it disappeared.

“Of course,” she smiled. Kailex again dipped the brush into the black liquid and started to paint the outline for some kind of exotic creature that only she had seen before. The eyes were almond shaped and had slitted pupils, Kailex then washed the brush, dipping it into a golden liquid she began to paint the different shades of the creature’s iris. Once the eyes were finished she washed the brush again and began to outline the shape of the creature’s head with black again.

It’s head shape was like that of a cross breed between a horse and a dog, with the muzzle of a horse its mouth was open enough to show that it had sharp teeth, its ears were like a dog and were alert. The rest of the body was shaped like a horse, a powerful body with thick, strong limbs and cloven hooves.

It’s tail was long and like a horse’s tail only it had hidden blade in it which Kailex, for obvious reasons, did not paint. The creature’s fur was the colour of snow and it had a mane of black hair. Kailex had a expression of absolute concentration on her face as she began painting the creature’s wings. The wings were strong with white feathers and sprouted from its powerful shoulders.

Once it was done, Kailex stepped aside to let Saran see it. The little child looked at it, a smile on her little face, “it’s wonderful Kay!” she clapped her hands, giggling. Kailex smiled and put the paints away, “you can paint like that someday as well if you want…” she murmured, kneeling next to the little child’s bed. Saran yawned, “r-really?” she said mid-yawn.

Kailex smiled at her again, “you are tired, you must sleep now Saran, it is getting late child…” she stated gently. Saran nodded, her eyes half closed as she snuggled down into her soft bed, Kailex tucked her in, pulling the cover up to the child’s shoulder. “Sleep well Saran…” she whispered, planting a gentle kiss on the girls forehead before she left the room.

----

Later on found Kailex perched on the very top of her temple; watching as her followers either went to sleep or stayed up drinking. The cool night air played with the goddess’s black mane of hair; the moonlight making it seem as though it had blue highlights.

She closed her eyes, savouring the feel of the gentle breeze as it caressed her skin, like a mother’s touch. Kailex opened her eyes again, she stood up, looking down she saw Zarak walk into her temple entrance. The Goddess’s mouth formed a sneer and her brows knit together, “bastard…” she growled before letting herself fall, curving in the air and landing in her room easily.

The Goddess sighed. “Such a shame one has to die for a whole groups year long tradition…” she murmured. “Deserves what I plan for him anyway…” she growled, before taking off her clothes and laying down on her bed, waiting for him…

Zarak walked into the Goddess’s room and froze stiff, there she was, lying on her bed, completely naked, the moonlight shafting through her windows outlining her indescribable body…

Kailex seemed to narrow her silver eyes at him, “come here ‘Beast-Master’…” she made a ’come hither’ motion with one finger. Zarak swiftly came forwards, looking very excited, shown by a growing bulge in his pants.

The humane male lifted one knee onto the edge of Kailex’s bed, she lifted her hands, her fingers undoing the drawstring to his pants. Kailex then took off his jerkin, running her hands over his torso, the faint lines of muscles on his tanned body. Zarak sounded like he had growled before he lost control of himself, pushing Kailex down by her shoulders and kissing her forcefully.

The Goddess did not fight back, she wrapped her long legs around his waist and kissed him back just as savagely, her hands running up his body until they were at his neck, caressing it. Zarak pushed his hips against hers, a hardness pressing against the material of his pants. Kailex unwrapped her legs from his waist and pulled a final time at the drawstring, the beast master’s trousers falling to the ground where he promptly kicked them off.

Kailex reached a hand down, running her slender fingers over the Human’s hard shaft, her thumb rubbing the tip before sliding her hand back down again. Zarak groaned; the more logical part of his mind unbelieving that a Goddess was actually doing this to him. He hardly noticed that Kailex’s eye had started to glow a smoky golden colour; she was in lust.

Zarak couldn’t take it anymore, he wanted to fuck the Goddess now. It had been so long since he had slept with a woman, he was surprised he hadn’t cum when she started touching him! The Beast-master pushed her back down again, climbing on top of her and parting her legs with his knee before thrusting himself into her.

Kailex gritted her teeth, that had been a little more painful than she thought it would be. Her hands slid onto his shoulders as Zarak slammed his hips into her, the Goddess gritted her teeth tighter, pleasure filled snarls escaping her mouth. Both quickly came and as Zarak was blinded by pleasure Kailex snarled and bit into his neck, her canines suddenly long, sharp fangs.

Zarak grunted, his eyes widened in pain before Kailex had swiftly drank down his blood far past the line where it was safe…

The Beast Master’s eyes faded and Kailex pushed him off her, his limp body collapsing on the ground. “Bastard…” she muttered, picking his body up by his hair and throwing him out the window. So hard that he flew into the sea, the tide carried the body away…

Kailex sighed, a small smile tilted the corners of her now bruised lips, I needed that… she thought absently. For Kailex, blood was a turn on, and being locked away for as long as she had…

Although what she had done just now was not exactly her idea of ‘fulfilment’ it would do for now…

The Goddess sighed again and slipped back into her bed, falling asleep swiftly.
