Beyond Normality

Your rainbow fridge magnet reminds me

Of what we're supposed to be

For everything we've always been told

So who we are, isn’t that what matters

Maybe together we can teach tolerance

Let them see how to be happy

It's alright if they don’t understand us

As long as you're still lying next to me

Who was I fooling

You cant be my dirty secret anymore

I'm just so happy to have

Someone to sing me to sleep

I'll chase away your bad dreams

Hold you tight when days go wrong

No one can chase the way we feel

With their looks and negativity

And maybe together we can teach tolerance

Let them see how to be happy

It's alright if they don’t understand us

As long as you can be lying next to me

So through the night, it's just us two

No consequences, but second chances

No staring eyes, just caring sighs

Love beyond normality
