Like To A Lonely
Dragon
by S&M
Sitting in a dimly lit
kitchen
your house doesn’t feel like a home
There’s a
constant ringing in the background
but you don’t pick up the
phone
Shadows pass over you
of those
dear and gone
Sleepy eyes can’t stay open
long enough to
mourn
Concentration is dying
and your
screams turn into yawns
Mind wandering desperately
looking for
something to cling on
Friends can shower you with
sympathy
and occupy you when you’re alone
But fleeting ideas
keep entering your head
And their chatter turns into a drone
Women only take up a few hours
and
you go through them without a moan
Your coldness leaves them in
shivers
and their names stay unknown
Depression gnaws your brain
And an
ache develops in your bones
Forgotten melodies rise to your ears
and you can smell your brother’s cologne
A few knocks before an
entrance
Discovering you sitting there like stone
My concern
brought a smile to your lips
when you realized you were never on
your own
