There’s Something Beneath by Yami Shizuka
There’s something beneath the surface
And it’s always on the rise
Threatening our engagement
A triumph in God’s eyes
There’s something beneath my shirtsleeves
But it’ll never reach your eyes
Because you never cared enough
Or maybe it’s because I never tried
There’s something beneath my smile
Something decrepit I must hide
For if you were to look beneath
You’d know that I have died
There’s something beneath this poem
Some hidden message I’ve transcribed
But you’ll never get to figure it out
Because you cannot see past my disguise
