I Begin Again

Birds slip between the partings of the sky,

Leaving valleys, hills enclosing an abyss,

So accustomed to being empty it spouts

Eternity upward through the clouds,

Touching and tapping the barrier of sky

That catches the eye of God in genuflection

And those that want but do not die reach

Between a fabric thick with air and bubbles,

Nothingness, and hail of broken corneas

Impart a sight on the mind of shorter lies.
