Night Terrors

Introduction

In the time of the dinosaurs, Earth flourished with a wide variety of life. Then something catastrophic occured. An asteroid collides with Earth, killing off many creatures, enveloping the world in a cloud of dust, and blocking out the Sun's rays. And from the asteroid crawled the creatures. Thriving off heat and darkness, they devoured every organism that could not, or would not hide. Then the dust cloud began to thin, and the Sun shone through, driving the creatures into hibernation deep underground.

Now, 65 million years later, the creatures were inadvertantly awakened by the blast of a nuclear bomb being tested. The creatures began their slow climb to an age of technology, and age of civilization, an Age of Man.

When the creatures had emerged, and began to dominate the nighttime, the brave people fought back, trying in vain to make a dent in the assault, but ultimetly failed. The smart ones went into hiding, building up certain points to defend themselves against the creatures, but never going for a full blown attack. The schools of the city were the best places to go. Along with National Guard bases, Fire Stations, and Police Stations. Every night, the creatures would crawl out of the sewars, or holes, and roam the streets, looking for food, always managing to catch some stray dog or cat. And every night, the creatures would attack the people holed up in their buildings. It seemed the Age of Man had come to an end. That is, untill one man showed up, after spending four years by himself in the wilderness, miles away from fellow humans, with nothing but a small, two seater helicopter. This is the story of the Fight for Survival.
