Red Coat.

Red Coat
I feel
pretty
happy
sexy
Bus
pull string
screech
crash
bruised
confused
I look
I find
her broken body
twisted
blue
small
unmoving
quiet
I scream
Call 911
Watching them
as I clutch my red coat
now a reminder
of something
best left
forgotten
and I see
in the girl's place
shadows of friends
and those close
to me
and I cry
and I hug nothing
in the dark
that squeezes me
sucks the air away
as I try to think
of nothing
but there is no
freedom there

I was in a bus accident about four months ago, when two cars slammed into the bus I was on. I got thrown off, but I came out of it alive. Can't say the same for the girl.
