Lilies
bouncing along the river wide
a spring of pure white lilies
dancing ‘cross the bumpy tide
they waft aloft the sillies
and sing unto the water clear
a love of all things far and near
and wait until the sun departs
before they rest their joyful hearts
on petals cream they float about
passing rocks and fish and trees
swiftly swimming ‘bove the trout
gliding ‘long below the bees
their journey’s end
just round the bend
secluded pool of light
and splash and sing all lovely like
lilies with delight
