Restlessness is a window.

-

Sketchy at the edges

and forever incomplete.

Propped by wooden wedges,

an object of deceit.

A window swathed in darkness,

made to keep you in.

An attribute to restlessness,

silently whispering in the wind.

-

Quickly pace in the gray,

waiting to be swept away.

-

You're waiting for the pain of existence.

The dull gray clouds turn the trees,

transforming them a violent emerald.

Who in their rustling voices

urge you to satisfy their pleas,

by making impossible choices.

-

Join the senseless callings of the night?

Or sit tortured in your man-made box?

-

Put your face to the glass;

feel that bitter, unyielding coolness,

and know it'll never grant you to pass.

-

An invisible barrier so incomplete it cannot be...

broken, shattered, or seen,

but all the same,

it is felt.
