I feel like I’m in the street by the curb

By the curb with a sign in the street

Crossed out on the sign is “best offer”

Underneath in big the word CHEAP

-------------------

The lawyers agreed on a price for my soul

A payment made monthly by mail

But maybe my father should have waited awhile

To see if my soul went on sale

-------------------

Maybe my father was charged too much

Maybe I was way overpriced

Maybe he’s paying more than enough

To keep me out of his life

-------------------

Maybe he should put me by the curb

By the curb with a sign in the street

And cross out the words “my daughter”

And write in big the word FREE
