Third Wheel

A guy and a girl
And then there is you
Three of a kind
That will not do

They say something and laugh
You don’t understand
And then you notice
He’s holding her hand

You start to protest
But what can you do
Remember that couples
Are made up of two

You’re the third wheel
Just there for the ride
Despite any feelings
You have inside

You feel pretty crummy
But that’s just the start
You’re chilled to the bone
You feel a break in your heart

She says not to worry
You’ll always be best
Of course she says this
With her head on his chest

You want to crawl in a hole
Get away from them both
But there may be a day
Where she needs you most

You know that by staying
You could go through Hell
But sorry dear boy
You’re under her spell

So you’ll stick around
Despite how you feel
For her sake at least
You’ll be the third wheel
