She
says keep the lights on,
‘For tomorrow may never come.
Keep
the lights on,
What if the world stopped now?’
There’s
a quote she always says,
Borrowed from an unknown face-
Names
forgotten long ago,
“Where were you when the World stopped
turning?”
Beside her bed.
That’s where my world
paused,
As she sat and sobbed
Yet another bitter symphony.
So drink up,
Empty that bottle,
Maybe the last drop
Will be your cure.
Then, when, maybe you’ll sleep,
You’ll learn to let go,
Feel the darkness inside,
Find
it in me.
Pleading with its eyes,
Hoping she’ll see,
The dark reveals its intentions:
The dark secretly loves her.
But she says
‘Keep the lights on’.
Then, at
least, maybe,
Her world won’t end in darkness.
A/N: Would love to know what you think of this.
Oh and kudos to whoever knows where the quote is from!
