Assumptions

I made one too many assumptions
on a morning too fine to be real
the clouds too white, the sky too blue

the birds chirping (or rather, the car horns)
made me forget about scientific methods
totally

so when they were proved wrong
s> devastation /s> (that's too angsty,
right?)
I vowed not to talk to you (never's too definite)

to banish you past the lines of my world
yet the lines seemed to be drawn in chalk

and the wind that I felt when you walked past
that static
managed to sweep it away

it's allme you see
bruised
because of her foolish assumptions
on such a pretty day
(a day too pretty to be true.)
