Don't yell!

By: Amber King

My heart races as he runs towards me

I feel scared.

I don't know what to do.

I hold my breath.

I want to scream and run away.

He yells at me.

What he wants is more important.

He stops yelling.

I turn and inch back to my room.

I stay there for a few hours.

To let him calm down...

And to hide my own fright.

I don't come out until I'm called again.

Which could be all night.

I slowly get my heart rate down.

And finally start to relax.

I sigh, and take a deep breath.

And let it all out.
