This journey has been a long one
And is finally nearing the end
I have traveled far and wide
Through this dreary tunnel

Starting as an ache
Just there, beneath the skin
I started running constantly
Through every pulsing vein.

Adrenaline could not argue
This ache was just too awful
I pushed past her vying flow
I prodded her back beneath the surface

"This is my time," I told her
Yet let her follow behind
"Frost said for you to come, too,
But just don't break my fight."

Ignoring her from then on out
I was just like a train
Straight as an arrow
From my course I would not stray

Finally reaching into those eyes
I would no longer hide
Spilling outward, streaming down
I let them all know how

How much pain lay beneath this skin
How this love will never die
How I didn't want to show this side
But I'll admit I didn't try

Salty like seawater
Damp like the dew
Falling faster now
Just because of you

Here it comes, the end of my journey
A hand to wipe away
A little moisture on her palm
All that I remain

This journey has been a long one
Finally coming to an end
Started as a slight ache
Just there, beneath the skin.
