Prologue

The stories of the hospital on the hill are infamous. A place where people who suffered from tuberculosis would go to die for more than forty years. A place that was closed down after more than sixty years of harboring death and patient mistreatment. A place that gave birth to legends.

Room 502. The stories of the room itself should have been enough to keep us away from the entire hospital. Actually, just thinking about what we saw in that room sends chills tearing down my spine.

The night of June third, 2003. It was a mistake—we should have known better than to break into a place that was dubbed “the second most haunted place in the country”, but we let our curiosity get the best of us. We wanted to see what was there. We wanted to believe in the legends and myths and have proof to show others and help them to believe as well.

I think that was the biggest mistake of our lives.
