Tears streaming down her face

She whispers to no one:

“It was never together”

She can be the very definition of

C.o.n.t.r.a.d.i.c.t.i.o.n.

Smiling laughing having fun

With the same person that caused the tears to flow

The screams, the torment.

Hating the love shining on her own face

Not meaning what she says

Feeling unworthy of any praise

Loving self-loathing

“It was never together”

This whispers growing

Attracting some attention

and relieved

All at the same time

She wants to let go

But keeps holding on

(To everything)

(To nothing)

Anything to make her feel numb

“It was never together”

She can hardly contain her –screaming–

Can you hear her now?

She can’t help it, but wants to keep going

She doesn’t want anyone to hear her soul shattering

Yet there’s always you to listen

She’s the very definition of
