Teardrops

By: Cassandra Rose Ernst

Created on April 26, 2006

Teardrops are falling,

But I don't let anyone see them.

They show my weakness,

A woman must be strong.

---

Teardrops are falling,

I quickly wipe them away.

I hide my pain,

Though my heart is slowly breaking.

---

Teardrops are falling,

I turn away from comfort.

It hurts more than I can bear,

Yet I will still bear the pain alone.

---

Teardrops are falling,

I wish I could express my pain.

Yet who can I trust not to hurt me?

I cannot even trust myself.

---

Teardrops are falling,

If only there was somebody to lean on.

A shoulder to cry on,

Too long I have relied on myself.

---

Teardrops are falling,

I wish I weren't so ashamed of them.

Each drop of water,

Represents my silent sorrows.

---

Teardrops are falling,

He wants to wipe them away.

But I turn from His embrace,

My sorrows are my own.

---

Teardrops are falling,

And I am falling too.

I cry out for help,

I know I cannot survive on my own.

---

Teardrops are falling,

Yet He tells me not to be ashamed.

I am loved,

My Father in Heaven loves me.

---

Teardrops are falling,

He wipes them all away.

I know now I need Him in my life,

He lifts me up.

---

Teardrops are falling,

Yet they are mo longer tears of sorrow,

He has wiped away my pain,

I cry tears of joy.

---

I am no longer ashamed of who I am,

He loves me no matter what.

I need not run from the past,

Or fear for the future.

---

Teardrops are falling . . .

---

I am SAVED
