we'd drink (sub)lime vodka
and patiently wait for the summer rain to wash it off
and sip it back into the ashen earth.

(fantasy too real

in a part of the world

where candlelit moons shimmered

the colors of your skin-

beaches and clubs and sex)

& we'd bring smile to goodbye,
eyes burning with the (after)effect.

AN: This has been long overdue. I wrote it back in winter, maybe December or January. It's about the last couple of summers in my life and I'm not completely satisfied with it but that's ok too.
