Fall

I find it hard to trust you never knew.
I find it's getting harder every day.
Suppresséd tears are gath'ring up like dew,
And slowly my mind slips further away.

But I snap back, and I wake up again.
You're gone,you're gone, you're gone, let me let go.
And still I know there's no way to pretend.
I hate it, but alas, I love you so.

The pain gets deeper with each second passed.
I grin and bear it, hold these silent tears.
And even though I know this cannot last,
You're still the core of all my hopes and fears.

And it's amazing—because it is so small—
That every time I think of you... I fall.
