Neurons Firing”

I'm just responding to this world
Out of joint
Broken mirrors and reflections
Like rainbows
Shattered from a broken prism
Or maybe
A sunset falling in the sky
As night crushes the oranges and reds and yellows
And the purples and blues and blacks take over
And silence reigns
Fierce silence
Black silence
Avelvet cloak falling onto the world
With jewels
Pretty stones
Diamonds
On this cloak floating in the sky
Pinpricks of light
Poked by God through a sheet of black construction paper
And the light grows brighter
So bright... that everything else disappears
And all you see
Are the stars falling in the sky
Now
Like fire
Falling from the sky
White fire
Not red or orange or yellow like the sunset
Just white
Beautiful
Pure white
Like ice crystals
Or snow
Falling on a black, cold winter day
And I'm catching those snowflakes on my tongue
And it's cold
So cold on my tongue
And they taste sweet
Like sugar... but not quite
And they're hard to catch
But they're so sweet that I want more
I'm almost greedy about it...

But the snow has stopped
And the night has gone black again
With no reprieve
From
the
Moon...
