So we’re sitting on the couch, watching

A movie—at least, pretending to, anyway, because

I’m watching your face, my gaze snaking past your

Lips to land on heavy-lidded bedroom eyes

Clouded over with passion as you

Rock me back and forth in your lap.

I know this won’t come to fruition—with them here, there will

Be no release from the pleasure-pain enveloping

Us both, no sweet nothingness where time fades away—

But I’m content, baby, to have you hold me, nuzzle

My neck and leave your mark as though

I am claimed.
